Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day - ending the 8 hour fast while you were sleeping. Breakfast jump-starts your metabolism resulting in a higher calorie burn throughout the day.
Skip it and your fast will continue, potentially causing your body to burn muscle for fuel. Since most people are trying to add muscle and lose fat, this prolonged fasting is working against you. Besides, since muscle is metabolically active, just having more of it will increase your metabolism even further.
Many people say they feel hungrier during the day if they eat breakfast. This is absolutely true! Increasing your metabolism will make you hungrier but you'll also be burning more calories. If you keep you total calorie intake within your recommended needs, you'll better off in the long run.
