1. Warm-up by walking or doing light cardio before stretching.
2. Start slowly and stretch gently.
3. Never stretch to the point of pain.
4. Breath slowly and rhythmically to help you relax.
5. Slowly increase your stretch as your muscles relax.
6. Use proper posture.
7. Hold each stretch for 20-30 seconds or longer.
8. Stretch while on the phone, reading email or watching TV.
9. Set reminders on your calendar to stretch during your workday.
10. Stretch often, especially after every workout.
