24 Hour Fitness Announces New Senior Leadership

Colin Heggie Named President of California Fitness in Asia

Jeffrey Boyer Named CFO, Tony Wells Promoted to CMO

SAN RAMON, Calif., April 7, 2008 – 24 Hour Fitness, the largest privately-owned U.S. fitness chain, today announced Colin Heggie has been named president of the company’s California Fitness operation in Asia. Heggie’s position as EVP and CFO will be filled by Jeffrey Boyer, formerly of Michaels Stores, Inc. In addition, Tony Wells has been promoted to chief marketing officer. All three executives report directly to Chief Executive Officer Carl Liebert.

“We value the contributions of all our current and former team members. They have helped us build 24 Hour Fitness’ legacy as a fitness leader and innovator,” said Liebert. “We are confident that we have the right team in place to lead our company into an exciting new period of growth and success.”

Prior to his promotion, Colin Heggie spent nearly eight years as CFO for 24 Hour Fitness. Previously, he served as senior vice president and chief financial officer for global operations at Burger King Corporation, including a year as president of the Asia Pacific region. Heggie replaces Steve Clinefelter as president of California Fitness, who is retiring after 25 years and will return home to the United States with his family this summer.

“My experience at 24 Hour Fitness has shown me the unlimited potential of our Asian operations,” said Heggie. “I look forward to building upon Steve’s remarkable record of success and continuing the company’s growth in the region.”

Jeffrey Boyer joins 24 Hour Fitness after five years with Michaels Stores, Inc, most recently as president and chief financial officer. Previously, he held senior financial positions with a number of multi-unit retailers and consumer product companies, including five years with Sears Roebuck & Co and Kraft Foods.

“24 Hour Fitness has the financial discipline and leadership structure in place to generate significant results in the coming years,” said Boyer. “I’m thrilled to be joining the company as it looks to expand its footprint, further improve operating results and increase brand recognition here at home and abroad.”

Tony Wells’ promotion to chief marketing officer follows his role as senior vice president of marketing for 24 Hour Fitness. Previously in his career, he was responsible for global relationship management for HSBC Bank in his role as vice president of client services at VISA USA, Inc.

“It is a thrill for me, both personally and professionally, to be able to support a powerful global brand like 24 Hour Fitness,” said Wells. “I’m excited to play a key role in continuing to raise the standard of excellence we have established in our company and across the fitness industry as a whole.”
