24 Hour Fitness® Introduces the bodybuggSP Personal Calorie Management System
New bodybuggSP™ Personal Calorie Management System from 24 Hour Fitness® Makes Weight Management More Convenient than Ever.
SAN RAMON, Calif. - October 28, 2010
24 Hour Fitness, the largest U.S. fitness club chain and a leading health club industry pioneer, is continuing to help people reach their fitness goals and manage their weight by introducing the newest version of its bodybugg® calorie management system, the bodybuggSP™ system. The system makes reaching weight-loss goals more convenient - providing users with real-time access to track calories burned, log calories consumed and more, all on their mobile devices.*
The bodybugg® and bodybuggSP systems monitor “calories in and calories out,” using armbands to track calories burned throughout the day (using a variety of biometrics including galvanic skin response, physical activity and temperature) and the bodybugg.com web interface to input and track calories consumed and assist with daily meal planning. However, the new bodybuggSP armband takes the system a step further; adding Bluetooth functionality for seamless data transfer from the armband to compatible mobile devices,* including iPhone and iPod touch. Using the free bodybuggSP app, users can log calories in, track calories out and even count how many steps they’ve taken – all from the palm of their hands.
“We are constantly surveying our members to see how we can better help eliminate barriers to fitness,” said Bill Quinn, senior vice president of merchandising at 24 Hour Fitness. “The bodybugg system has helped more than 100,000 Americans lose weight and stay fit, and the new bodybuggSP system is a remarkable breakthrough for people who want up-to-the-minute information on their weight-loss progress.”
Components of the bodybuggSP calorie management system include:
- The bodybuggSP armband
- A free six-month online subscription to the bodybugg.com web interface for tracking progress and success
- The option of one in-person consultation session with a 24 Hour Fitness Personal Trainer or a phone session with a bodybugg system coach
- A USB cable to upload data and charge the device
- PC and Mac compatibility
- Access to the bodybuggSP app from select mobile devices,* including iPhone and iPod touch
The new bodybuggSP system is now available for purchase online at 24hourfitness.com.
