24 Hour Fitness, the largest privately-owned U.S. fitness club chain and a leading health club industry pioneer, announced today that it plans to hire approximately 1,300 certified personal trainers at club locations across the U.S. during 2011.

Personal training positions are currently available in most 24 Hour Fitness markets, with significant hiring efforts in the following areas:
- California: approximately 700 personal training hires expected across the state, including the Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego and San Francisco areas
- East Coast: approximately 200 hires expected at 17 clubs in the New York, Baltimore and Miami areas
- Texas: approximately 100 hires expected in the Austin, Dallas and Houston areas
- Colorado: approximately 100 hires expected throughout Colorado, including the Denver and Colorado Springs areas
- Oregon: approximately 75 hires expected in Portland-area clubs
- Washington: approximately 75 hires expected in Seattle and surrounding areas
- Hawaii: approximately 50 hires expected in Honolulu
24 Hour Fitness currently employs more than 3,500 certified personal trainers across the U.S. and is seeking qualified trainers to join its elite network. At 24 Hour Fitness, personal trainers provide members with personalized and goal-specific training programs while also serving as fitness experts on a number of topics, including flexibility, cardio training, resistance training and healthy living. As part of the 24 Hour Fitness personal training team, new hires also have access to educational resources, in the spirit of continued professional development and career growth.
The company recognizes accreditations from ten esteemed fitness associations: the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Council on Exercise (ACE), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), The Cooper Institute, International Fitness Professionals Association (IFPA), National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF), National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association (NESTA), the National Federation of Professional Trainers (NFPT) and World Instructor Training Schools (W.I.T.S.). 24 Hour Fitness also accepts a fitness-related bachelor’s or master’s degree as qualification for a personal training position.
