SAN RAMON, CALIF. - Oct. 11th, 2011
24 Hour Fitness announced today that it will celebrate the grand re-opening of its club, located at 1020 7th Street in Sacramento, Calif., on Monday, Oct. 3. At the event, the club’s renovated first floor will be revealed – accounting for 19,000 square feet of additional space and completing the club’s 31,000 square foot expansion. Joining the festivities will be Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, who will recognize Oct. 3 as “Healthy Sacramento Day” in honor of the highly anticipated event.
“The entire 24 Hour Fitness team is pleased to be able to provide the Sacramento community with an expanded and state-of-the-art facility that is designed to help our members achieve their fitness goals,” said Carl Liebert, chief executive officer, 24 Hour Fitness. “We appreciate Mayor Johnson designating October 3 as ‘Healthy Sacramento Day’ to underscore the importance of a healthy lifestyle and physical fitness.”
The enhanced facility completed its first phase of renovations in July, when it re-opened as an upgraded 24 Hour Fitness® Super-Sport club and revealed a brand new second floor boasting a new full-sized basketball court, added racquetball court and more. 24 Hour Fitness members can now enjoy 50,000 square feet of amenities, enhancements and upgrades, including:
- A larger, reinvigorated facility with fresh colors, new flooring and updated signage
- An array of state-of-the-art cardio, strength and functional training equipment with personal viewing screens on select machines
- A brand new functional training area
- An expanded Kids’ Club
- An updated pool, steam room, sauna and whirlpool
- Refreshed Cycle and Group X® rooms
- Improved locker rooms and showers
- Towel service
“I applaud 24 Hour Fitness for continuing to reinvest in Sacramento and its local club members. For more than 17 years, they’ve been a champion for healthy living in our community and provided our city with incredible access to fitness,” said Johnson. “With the new club expansion, downtown Sacramento members will now have more opportunities to lead healthier lives, and revitalize their motivations to stay physically active.”
