Community Invited to Join Festivities and Celebrate “Healthy Livermore Day” on Saturday, Dec. 22
SAN RAMON, CALIF. - December 12, 2012
SAN RAMON, Calif. - 24 Hour Fitness is pleased to celebrate the much-anticipated grand opening of its new location in Livermore, Calif. The 24 Hour Fitness®Livermore Super-Sport club located at 2650 Kittyhawk Road will open to the public on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 6 a.m.
To celebrate, 24 Hour Fitness invites the local community to stop by on grand opening day for complimentary VIP club tours. Beginning at 6 a.m. and throughout the day, event attendees will have the opportunity to sample several Group X® classes, including Les Mills BODYPUMP™, Step and Yoga. In addition, attending the celebration will be Livermore Mayor John Marchand. Marchand will join 24 Hour Fitness at 9 a.m. for a ribbon cutting ceremony, where he will proclaim Dec. 22 as “Healthy Livermore Day” in honor of the new club.
“The City of Livermore values businesses like 24 Hour Fitness, which encourage regular exercise and healthy living,” Mayor Marchand said. “24 Hour Fitness has served our community for the past 16 years, and we are pleased with the new, large location and expanded opportunities it will give our local residents to be active.”
To support the local community, 24 Hour Fitness will collect canned food and help distribute groceries and meals to more than 800 Tri-Valley residents for Livermore’s Open Heart Kitchen. The organization provides fresh, hot meals to the hungry – serving more than 236,000 meals each year. Additionally, those who visit the new 24 Hour Fitness Livermore Super-Sport club on grand opening day are encouraged to bring non-perishable canned food items to donate.
“This time of year can be difficult for many people and families who are underserved, homeless and struggling to make ends meet,” said Linda McKeever, executive director, Open Heart Kitchen. “The generosity of 24 Hour Fitness, along with their members and team members, will truly help people to live healthier, by feeding people from all over the Tri-Valley area who are hungry and in need this holiday season.”
Club manager LaRay Spencer, a four-year veteran of 24 Hour Fitness, will lead more than 100 team members at the Super-Sport club. It is the first of four new locations scheduled to open in the Bay Area over the next six months – an estimated $25 million investment for the health club industry leader. It spans approximately 68,500 square feet and features an array of amenities and equipment that members and guests can enjoy, including:
