The Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) believes that in the battle with cancer, unity is strength, knowledge is power and attitude is everything. The LAF was founded in 1997 by cancer survivor and champion cyclist, Lance Armstrong. The LAF provides the practical information and tools to help people that are living with cancer. Their mission is to inspire and empower people with cancer to live strong. The LAF works towards its mission through education, advocacy, public health and research programs.

As Chairman and Founder of the Magic Johnson Foundation (MJF), Johnson addresses the critical issues of health, educational and social needs of inner-city youth. The non-profit empowers minority communities through advancing and supporting worthy charitable organizations. Johnson provides the inspiration and momentum for the Magic Johnson Foundation Taylor Michaels Scholarship Program that provides college scholarships, mentoring and internships.

Shaquille O'neal and the Safe Surfin' Foundation
Off the court, Shaq recently became the spokesperson for The Safe Surfin’ Foundation, an organization that provides parents, teachers and school administrators, law enforcement, community groups and librarians with the information and resources necessary to keep children safe and their exploration of the Internet fun. He has also helped raise money for the STARBRIGHT Foundation and Athletes and Entertainers for Kids. During just about every major holiday, he dresses up and distributes presents: Shaq-a-Claus for Christmas, Shaq-a-Bunny for Easter and Thanksgiving Shaq.
