What first brought me into the fitness world was watching the incredible success of a friend of mine as she established a resistance training program for the purpose of getting lean and toned. Even as a long-term runner, at the time I was struggling in the gym to reach my own fitness goals, but seeing her drop forty pounds in a healthy way and in a reasonable time frame, I was inspired to get serious with my own fitness program. After seeking out the necessary education to work through various resistance-based fitness programs, I was able to cut down to 9% body fat and place in my first fitness figure competition. I credit my success to the education I received during my certification process, as it gave me a first hand experience in overcoming the constant barrage of myths and misinformation that has proliferated in the fitness world that up until that point had been so frustrating. Now my goals have shifted to duplicate that same process with my clients in the gym that are also struggling to find success.
