I used to train the way most people in the gym do, paying attention to specific body parts. They I injured both shoulders and had chronic ankle problems leading me to rethink the way I train. I found that paying attention to movement patterns as opposed to body parts and muscles left me with more integrity through my body in both athletic and everyday movements. I firmly believe that goals in the gym can be met by paying attention to basic movement patterns.
