I was fifteen the first time I decided to exercise. I was on the cheerleading team in my high school and desperately wanted to be a flyer. But I didn't have the upper body strength necessary for the job. Rather than be content at the bottom of the pyramid, I started working out at home. Buying workout DVDs and trying to do "boy pushups." I realized that if I was going to stand on the top of that pyramid I had to put in the work to get there.
Ten years later, I approach fitness as a way of life. If you fall, get back up. If you miss a workout, make it up tomorrow. If you have the most amazing Red Velvet cupcake on Monday, have a salad on Tuesday. Fitness, like life, is about balance. Find that balance, and you WILL get to the top of that pyramid!
