Born and raised on Oahu, Hawaii the youngest of four kids, I was always in some kind of competition. Some days it would be for the last ice cream sandwich; other days you could find me practicing a particular sport till I proved to be the best out of the siblings. The competitive drive I developed growing up paid off and I was given the opportunity to play collegiate volleyball at Hope International University.
While pre-season weight training my coach who happened to also be a personal trainer, showed me the benefits and the advantages of training the body for optimal performance. It was then when I decided to major in Kinesiology. After graduation from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, I became a personal trainer. Besides my experience on a volley ball team I also spent time coaching other players during my 13 year playing career.
Post graduation I took and passed the ACSM certified personal trainer exam. ACSM focuses on special populations that 24 Hour Fitness caters to. In addition I participated in the NESTA workshop. This is a hands-on seminar that complemented the previous work in my degree. This career gives me an opportunity to share the benefits and importance of training with others. I believe that a steady, yet challenging, combination of strength training and cardiovascular exercise deliver results. These two components can be tailored to achieve any goal. Can not wait to help you get to your goal! See you at the gym!
