My involvement in the field of fitness has been lifelong. It started when I was in elementary school and qualified for the presidential fitness challenge. I felt inspired that I was able to accomplish something physically. From there I continued to try and achieve accomplishments regarding any level of fitness. Weather it be from chasing a gold medal in a high school wrestling tournament, or finally beating my previous time on a mile run. Always making an attempt to do just a little bit better every time, has been way of life with me. One specific example of this is in regards to an accident that happened to me when I was 18. While being a young boy, doing what boys do, I had a firecracker accidentally go off while I was holding it. Subsequently I lost partial usage of my left hand. I wish and hope to inspire others who have had injuries or impairments. I know what its like to recover and try to get back on your feet after an injury. If I can do it, I want to be able to help others do it...and do a little better every day. As far as my current fitness activities, I teach and train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well as various other martial arts (Kali, FMA and JKD). In the future, I hope to complete a full length triathlon and hike the entire John Muir Trail.
