My lifetime passion for health and fitness began more than 16 years ago, in the medical field as an Xray technician, phlebotomist and medical assistant. Over the past 10 years at 24 Hour Fitness, I have helped a wide range of women lose weight and feel better, including PT (spine and joint issues) and pregnancy clients. Personal training has allowed me to blend my passions for fitness and wellness, and it brings me joy to see the positive changes in my clients as they transform their lives!
My passion for nutrition was instilled in me at an early age by my mom. However, my parents did not exercise, and their health suffered for it. They were deconditioned and had high blood pressure. When my dad suffered a large stroke in 2003, my husband and I took my parents in. I have taken my dad through stroke rehab, including physical, occupational and speech therapies. My dad is in a wheelchair, and I continue to work with him daily. My mom developed cancer and dementia, and we cared for her until she passed away in 2009.
Caring for my parents over these last few years has given me a deeper understanding of the impact of exercise and strength training on maintaining health and vitality throughout our lives. The decline and diseases of aging are preventable! We must never give up, and seek the help and support that we need.
The time is now to take charge of our health!! My own journey inspired me to become a personal trainer. At 18, I found myself unable to lose weight by walking in the hills and eating salads. I then tried every fad diet out there, nothing worked- I was exhausted and confused. But everything changed when I started working out at the gym. I couldn't believe how I was able to lose weight and reshape my body!
With the proper diet, resistance and cardio program, the results just kept coming. And I feel stronger and more fit today than ever. My mission is to guide women on the path to health and happiness. Together we will create an individualized nutrition and fitness program to help reach your weight loss and fitness goals.
