I have always been an active person, but never an athlete. I like taking part in the adventures the world has to offer and believe that you need to be healthy in order to do so. My family was very active growing up and I played all the sports in high school, but mostly as a benchwarmer. After high school I was awarded an ROTC scholarship for the Air Force. I spent five years in the Air Force traveling the world and had an amazing tim,e but I was ready to come back home to Portland. When I came home I started researching schools to help further my education and I found the healthy older adult program at Portland Community College (PCC). I really enjoy spending time with people who are 55 and better and I also love being physically active so I couldn not think of a better fit for a new career. I have a personal passion for traveling and seeing the world by my own power; wandering cities on my two feel, touring by bike or in many cases by kayak. I want to be able to maintain this lifestyle as long as possible and know that the best way to do that is through cross training and functional fitness. My main goal is to help people be active as long as possible so that they can enjoy everything that life has to offer.
