My decision to become a Personal Trainer was a result of my personal struggles with health and weight. As early as I can remember, I struggled with being overweight. I spent many of my early 20s overweight and very unhealthy. My motivation for changing my lifestyle came from having my twin boys. They came into the world 10 weeks earlier than scheduled. I watched them fight every day for their little lives. They inspired me then and they continue to motivate me now. Their desire to grow, and get stronger with each new day made we want to be a stronger and healthier mommy. I weighed 248 pounds in May of 2001. I was out of shape and constantly tired. I felt a sense of loss about who I was at that point in my life. I knew I was a wife. I knew I was a mom. I just forgot who I was. There started my journey. I joined 24 Hour Fitness, and began working with a Personal Trainer. I lost 20 pounds in my first 6 weeks. I was shocked. I was actually losing weight and getting fit. Though along this journey of mine I had multiple setbacks. Years of plateaus. I had to re-learn eating habits and understand why I got where I was and how I was going to get where I wanted to be. With poor nutrition, I was sabotaging my progress. I had to learn to be AWARE of my goals. After 12 long years I have lost a total of 112 pounds and I have hit my goal that I set out to met that May in 2001. My desire to become a Personal Trainer kept building. I wanted to help others in their journey to accomplish their goals. Having a trainer helped me know how to get to that healthier and happier place. They had the tools and knowledge I needed to reach my goal. I needed to be accountable to my goal and to myself. Many people do not mind hard work as long as it brings results. Being a personal Trainer helps me to tap into the power that two are stronger then one. I want to be a part of each persons personal journey. Be the road map. Assist in their progress. All of us have a personal journey. My story is a very common one. It might even sound like yours. Being a personal trainer is another goal I set along my weight loss journey. Today, I am happy to say. I am here to help you in what ever your goals and journey might be. Together we can achieve our best life possible.
