My interest in fitness started when I competed in track and field during high school. Once I graduated, I moved to Santa Barbara and earned a bachelor’s degree from UCSB. During my time there, I studied exercise and health science with an emphasis in personal training. While completing this program, I also became certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). I began working for 24 Hour Fitness in August of 2007, and since then have transferred from the Santa Barbara location to Thousand Oaks.
The reason I wanted to become a trainer was to encourage people to achieve their goals. Throughout my entire life I have been very goal oriented, and training allows me to educate people on how to reach an extremely important goal -- their physical conditioning. I have watched several clients progress through their weight loss, strength training, or overall general health and fitness goals. Seeing this has made me a better trainer because it gets me excited to help make a difference in someone else’s life.
I have recently decided to further my education in the health field and I am now pursuing a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree with a specialization in Sports Medicine. Fitness is my passion and I will bring that passion to each workout with every member.
