Bio

I grew up in an active family where my two older brothers played baseball. I have played softball since I was 5 years old because I always wanted to be with my brothers out on the field. Depression runs in my family and it is something I struggled with growing up. I developed unhealthy coping mechanisms to deal with my depression, but then found I felt better when I focused on playing softball. Softball and being active were positive outlets for me and enabled me to invest more energy into the important things like school and my relationships with my family. I also realized I could choose to have a positive outlook every day. Knowing that physical activity has a positive impact on not only the physiological state of being, but the emotional state of being as well makes me want to help others find their positive outlet through exercise.
