Hi, I am originally from the east coast where the weather is cold and rainy all the time. Ever since I have lived in this climate, it opened new doors for fitness for me since all year round there are many options. I did massage therapy for over six years and have treated a lot of athletic injuries and being active myself, I realized there was a science behind working out. Personal training was the next step in the health and wellness field for me. I never understood it even though I had already done martial arts, dabbling in Capoeira for 6 months, Wing Chun for 4 months, and Kentaido for a couple years, and lifeguarded for pools back at home. It is exciting to see changes happen when programming workouts and being consistent. I spread the awareness to my clients and want to change their lifestyle and way of thinking about working out to embrace and enjoy it without ever falling out of it. Motivating people and seeing them excited about the changes in their pant size or increasing their strength is what makes this job interesting.
Now, I workout to enjoy my outdoor hobbies which are a bit extreme and require a lot of stamina. I enjoy spearfishing and find that weightlifting and cardio really helps out with that. I also swim and hike and have hiked all over California, Mexico, and Utah.
Training clients with different goals is a great experience for me, and I train each person according to their goals and do not just make them sweat. Fitness is a long journey like martial arts, getting rich, or anything else. My job is to keep people on that path.
