Back in 2007, transitioning to college, I gained a lot of weight. I was 220 lbs and 26 percent body fat that I had health problems such as high blood pressure and anxiety attacks which affected other areas of my life such as school, relationships, and work. Disgusted with the way my body was and how I felt about myself on a daily basis, I started running on a track and going to the gym regularly. In a less than a year I dropped 30 pounds and went to 8 percent body fat. Inspired by an insanely energetic fitness instructor that taught a cardio funk class, I set out to inspire people in a similar way. In 2009, I started teaching various types of strength and cardio-based Group X classes and eventually transitioned to 24 Hour Fitness. Enjoying the connections I made with my participants, I decided to take my talents to a more personal level. In becoming a trainer, what drives me everyday is my passion to keep people living a health and happy life. I had an aunt who died of a heart attack as a result of being obese. I vowed to never let any of my loved ones suffer through a! similar circumstance that could be prevented through good exercises, eating, and attitude. Everyday, if I can inspire myself and others to push that extra mile to reach their goals then I am truly happy.
