When I moved to San Diego in 1998 I was terrified by the many fit people I saw. I immediately became a cardio queen who began with a half hour and eventually did three hours a day whether on an elliptical or in a class. Though I managed to lose 40lbs, I hit a point of overtraining and ruptured my calf and tore my achilles tendon. Shortly after I suffered deep vein thrombosis and three pulmonary embolisms. It was then I met my trainer at 24 Hour Fitness. He taught me how important resistance training was to avoid the plateau I had hit. I learned about being held accountable, changing my eating patterns and quickly losing inches even when the weight on the scale did not go down. I trained three days a week for two and a half years. I fell in love with training and yearned to help others in the same way. I quit my long time international buying career and decided to become a trainer. I am successful in this industry because I know how difficult it is to maintain proper eating and workouts when life gets rough. I have an understanding and appreciation for taking time out to do something for myself and it is that passion I want to share.
