Jumpstart includes five 25-minute sessions with a personal trainer. With each session building on the other, you'll realize how training helps you reach your goals sooner than if you did it alone.

session 1: assess your fitness level

Your target heart rate dictates how much to push yourself to gain true results. In this session, you'll identify that target heart rate and learn how to monitor it. Apply the knowledge by doing some work on the treadmill.

session 2: warm-up and upper body resistance training workout with evaluation

Effective workouts start with proper warm ups. Here you'll use the elliptical trainer and do some abdominal and upper body resistance work. Your trainer will help you develop correct posture and form, which is important for maximizing every exercise and avoiding injury.

session 3: warm-up and lower body resistance training workout with evaluation

After only two sessions you'll already be making progress. Add another building block by warming up on the stationary bike, and then doing both abdominal and lower body resistance training. This type of training provides a foundation for the upper body work in the next session.

session 4: upper body resistance training workout

Warm up on the stairmaster to prepare for upper body work. You'll be introduced to free weights and core training. Your core – the mid-section between the waist and chest - is involved in every movement you make. So the stronger your core, the better the results of your entire fitness program. You'll also incorporate what you learned in session 2.

session 5: lower body resistance training workout

Choose your favorite machine to warm up, then go through a lower body workout. This complete workout burns calories and builds muscle, making it the model for your ongoing fitness plan. You will also receive your workout plan in writing.
