Before - 24 Hour Fitness member Katie E.Everyone has heard of the “Freshman 15” but the “Senior 10” is less common.

When I graduated from college I was out of shape and overweight. My eating habits were undisciplined and a prior knee injury was continuing to cause me trouble.

So, as my new year’s resolution in 2003, I joined 24 Hour Fitness.

Initially I planned to set up my own exercise regime, but three personal training sessions came with my membership and I figured I would try it out.

During my first session I remember thinking to myself, “I’m never going to do that” or “I can’t learn to eat correctly.”

However, what I discovered was that through personal training with Tawna, I was able to achieve more than I had ever dreamed possible. I lost over 25 pounds and discovered my love of running.

After - 24 Hour Fitness member Katie E.My workouts with Tawna changed as my needs did. While I began with a weight loss regime, we switched to a performance plan once I began to run in major races.

As of the end of 2009, I have completed 5 marathons, over 10 half-marathons and countless 5K and 10K races. Running brings peace and tranquility to my otherwise crazy day and I could not have done it without the help of Tawna.
