After 10 years with 24 hour Fitness I found myself wanting more. A few years ago I left the company in search of personal gratification and a chance for progress. I was very successful, made good money, yet was not happy. My job was not fulfilling; I felt as though I was getting paid for a service that was not available, given the company standard that was set by that facility. I have a very logical personality and thrive in a setting where progress is measurable and proven. I did not enjoy the environment, despite the monetary perks. After being asked to return to 24 Hour Fitness by one of my previous managers, I decided I wanted a great environment to work in and train my clients to the best quality of service possible. I returned and I feel like it was a great choice to have made. Because I have seen first-hand the "competition" I have confidence that we are not only the industry standard here at 24 Hour Fitness; we deliver what is expected and do not believe in a comfort zone. I have long awaited a chance to become a leader in our organization. Regretfully, I have had to turn down opportunities that were presented to me in the past and am excited to finally be able to move into a fitness manager position in the near future. As a master trainer I feel that I inspire other trainers to further their education and I am a constant resource available to them. Trainers ask me for help designing sessions for their special needs clientele. They appreciate my ability to give candid feedback. My experience allows me the respect of the staff as they are always willing to take advice from me. Just as I do for my clients, I enjoy training and developing individuals to improve their strategies and take on their goals with proper direction. I have been self-motivated and am requesting development and training from those around me who have already learned the logistics of management. I trust my current staff of managers and know that they will prepare me for my personal goals while I continue to be dependable and consistent. Although I spent a period of time working only part-time, I feel that I was promoted because of my ability to maintain a consistent business plan that always ended in revenue that would normally reflect that of a "120 trainer". Despite my limited schedule, I contributed revenue for the sake of the club goal instead of only being satisfied with enough revenue to maintain my part-time hours. My attention to detail and business has not only helped me be successful for so long, it is what was noticed and promoted by management. I appreciate that the management in 860 has acknowledged that I am not a "lucky" trainer; they see that I work and organize my revenue, I drive business wherever I can and I anticipate problems to solve ahead. My success is intended and earned while my business is ran by my staff of clients whom I train and depend on to trust me, resulting in a flow of referrals and self-generated business. I keep them motivated and involved while maintaining my "authority" which keeps them accountable even though we all share a personal relationship that is also necessary to nurture client retention. I have worked in many locations with contrasting atmospheres, and have been able to thrive in each one. City of Industry has boasted the highest quality of management and expectation I have had the opportunity to work with. While many leaders in my past stand out positively in my memory, I enjoy the professional atmosphere here at 860; it has developed, in me, a higher level of respect as well as the desire to become a part of management. After working in 4 other locations; Ontario, San Dimas, Upland and Waikiki; I have to admit that the past two years in City of Industry have changed my view of the company, management quality, and the value of progress at 24 Hour Fitness.
