I have had a lifetime passion for health and fitness. My career began more than 22 years ago, in the medical field as an Xray technician, phlebotomist and medical assistant. Over the past 16 years at 24 Hour Fitness, I have helped a wide range of women lose weight and feel better. I specialize in helping those who need motivation, education and support. I have experience working with spine and joint issues, and a wide range of medical conditions and mobility levels. Personal training has allowed me to blend my passions for fitness and wellness, and it brings me joy to see the positive changes in my clients as they transform their lives!
My passion for nutrition was instilled in me at an early age by my mom. She had an organic garden before anyone knew what organic meant. However, my parents did not exercise, and their health suffered for it. When my dad suffered a large stroke in 2003, my husband and I took my parents in, and cared for them until they passed away. I took my dad through stroke rehab, including physical, occupational and speech therapies, and later cared for my mom when she suffered from cancer and Alzheimers.
Caring for my parents, and for countless patients and clients over the years, has given me a deeper understanding of the impact of exercise- not only on our appearance and confidence, but on maintaining health and vitality throughout our lives. We must never give up, and seek the help and support that we need.
My own journey inspired me to become a personal trainer. At 18, I found myself unable to lose weight by walking in the hills and eating salads. I learned what didnt work- I proceeded to try every fad diet out there and was exhausted and confused. But everything changed when I started working out at the gym, and learned to eat to fuel and nourish my body. I couldnt believe how I was able to lose weight, and strengthen and reshape my body.
