I have been playing sports since I was 5 years-old and I have been physically active ever since! From basketball to tennis, I played whatever was in season and loved it! I even played rugby at Stanford and was on a national championship team.
Throughout the years, I have realized that being physically active is not only fun but also good for me. I used to play sports for the sheer love but now I also realize how good it makes me feel and how healthy I can be because of my working out. It is this drive for a healthy mind and body that keeps me going. I want other people to feel the benefits of exercise, too. So that is one of the main reasons I became a personal trainer.
I also know firsthand that being physically active can save your life. I suffered from a blood clot when I was 19 years-old. The doctor told me that one of the things that saved my life was the fact that I was in good shape.
Overall, working out has many good benefits. I tell people that there is nothing but positive things to experience from working out - a healthy weight, sound sleep, less stress and higher levels of energy are just some of the things resulting from being physically active. The only thing is that it takes time. Some people tell me that they don't have time because they are caring for others. I tell them that when you take care of yourself and your health you can take even better care of others. Working out is a wonderful thing; it makes you happy, healthy, and fit.
