by Sandi L. on August 28, 2013

Edwin R. from our Sunnyvale Sport health club has been a personal trainer with 24 Hour Fitness since 2008. We recently caught up with Edwin to ask him some questions about his training style, how he motivates his clients and more.

24HF:  Why did you become a personal trainer?
ER:  I became a personal trainer because I have a passion for health and fitness and I love helping people. Fitness is who I am.

24HF: What is one thing you couldn’t live without?
ER:  I can't live without my family and friends.

24HF:  How do you keep your clients workouts fresh?
ER:  I'm constantly trying to become a better trainer everyday by researching new exercises to implement into fitness programs. Education is the key to developing great fitness programs.

24HF:  How do you motivate your clients to stay on track?
ER:  I motivate my clients by always being on top of their fitness program and holding them accountable to their personal workout calendars. I reward success every month with all clients and make sure they never get complacent.

24HF:  Along with designing workout programs, how else do you help clients reach goals?
ER:  I stay connected with all my clients on a personal level and am there for them 100% of the time. Building strong relationships with my clients is the number one priority along with getting them results.

24HF:  Can you share a success story that you’re most proud of?
ER:  I have a client who has lost over 100 pounds with me over the past year. It's been amazing watching his confidence grow and I'm excited for what the future holds for him. He trains with me three times a week and never misses a session.  Over the past year, Kevin has become a great client as well as a great friend.

24HF:  When you’re not at the gym, where would we find you?
ER:  Watching ESPN.

24HF:  What motivates you to workout and stay in shape?
ER:  Fitness has always been a big part of my life, and I strive to be in the best shape possible everyday. I come from a family history of heart disease and that's what keeps me motivated.
